I'll post a pic when I get home, figured I'd ask because my mechanic buddy said it was wrong and some one pulled up to me at a light and said it was wrong. It may be right, but I was doubtful.

there you go. Its just the overload spring like whoever had said above. I had had a picture from asking TRD about it in the past. You can see how much the factory springs were saging and thats why i put the add a leaf to try and recurve them back. A shackle lift would have just made them worse.

if that's an overload it has to bend awful far. . . looks kinda like an add a leaf that should be the other way . . but you will get a stiffer ride if it's flipped over

Thats not an overload spring !! Period. That is the bottom spring in the damn spring pack that is turned upside down, or flipped as you say.

Overload springs DO NOT have a "negative" arch like that.

IF, and thats a BIG IF, that is an actual overload spring, which it is not, then it has been overloaded too far and needs to be replaced/removed.

I dont see any add a leaf in that spring pack, then again i cant see the spring pack very well. It looks just like a stock toyota overload leaf. The bottom leaf came like that from the factory.

add a leaf wasn't installed at that time. TRD said the spring came like that when i had asked them a long time ago b/c I too questioned it. I would say its a overload and not a part of the leaf b/c that bottom one is seperate when you pull the springs and not bolted to the rest of them that are all together

edit: Found my old email from TRD. "That is an overload spring designed to stop the spring sag when the truck is overloaded. Your springs are sagging I can tell from the picture." and then the lift company told me "While we still sell Shackles they account for only 8% of our sales because the stock Tacoma springs are so weak, they really need an extra leaf." and thats why add a leafs were put on it and thats why it rides rough.
