You need to go to Auto Zone and rent the special tool you need. The kit you recieve will consist of several different wrenches, one of these wrenches will fit snug around the bolts for your fan clutch; that provides enuph back pressure for you to break loose the fan. This is definatly a 2 man job. I recently did this, its an easy job but impossible without this tool. Also double check to see if the large nut is or is not reverse threads.

im not being lazy, everything i have read has not involved taking the belt off......

these wrenches that you speak of, i realize that there is a bolt there but there is only one that i see, what else am i supposed to hold onto or in this case put the other wrench that somebody else is going to hold on to on, the bolt that you can see which is between the fan and the pulley is 7/8 and it is reversed thread, but like i said, this is the only thing that i can see.....

the pulley . . like someone said take the belt off . if it has enought tension and grip it will keep it from spinning but if not take it off and put some kinda chain wrench or on of them belt wrenches (ya know the one that is like a strap) . . just to hold it from spinning . . unless your strong and just hold it by hand . .
