FAN CLUTCH
hey i was wondering if anyone has ever been envolved with changing out a fan clutch on a ford ranger with a 3.0, mine is dead but i can not get it off cause i dont know exactly what to hold onto while i crank on the bolt that connects to the water pump, i know its reverse thread and i know im going the right way but i just cant get it to come loose, if anyone has any suggestion it would be greatly appreciated.......thanks

good point on the ford thing, buts its still better than a chevy.........this is just a small fuck up compared to some of the stupid shit that chevy's got going on
get a strap wrench that uses a chain and wrap that around the pully and have a friend hold that while you loosen the bolt.
this is how we did it on my 92 ranger
and while that fan is off you might as well replace the timming belt cause if you dont do it now, you'll just go through this again when its that time.

and to put a chain around the pulley involves taking the belt off and thats just one more process that i dont really want to do.......
