chevy lift opinion

Its pretty hard to screw up a leaf spring setup, but some are going to ride a little rougher. I'd go with the 6 and 3 combo myself. You can do that without the need for rear springs, modified driveshafts and expensive steering. As for axle upgrades...if you can't afford a 60 up front, find a 3/4 ton 44. 8 lug 10 bolts are a waste of lugnuts and will give you a false sense of security.

red somewhere that the 10 bolts are about as strong if not stronger then the 44's . .. .on my 44 I keep breaking axles . . and they use the same axles as a 10 bolt except 10 bolts are mostly 27 or 28 spline until late 80s and then went to 30's which is same as the dana 44's . .

I don't mean to thread-jack, but I figured this kinda fit. What the hell is an "auto-trac" and how can you tell if you have it. Those Whiplash suspension lifts advertise that you have to purchase a new front driveshaft if you have auto-trac. For reference, I have a 94 Z71, but it says it for 88-98 K1500's. Thanks guys.

auto tracs are on the newer chevy trucks that have the pushbutton auto 4wd. your 94 doesnt have auto trac
