Yup, the tabs were busted on two of them, but I was able to fix them with a plastic welder....

I just had my stock rear wheels widened. The guy (Eric Vaughn) did an excellent job. He cut the rear of the wheel off and welded on a 2" blank. I went from a 215 to 255 tire. I needed more traction and am trying to keep with the sleeper look.

Here is the thread with the info on page 1 (Vaughn Machine)...

It was $250 per wheel. It was a bit steep considering I could have bought the same size aftermarket wheel for cheeper. I felt it was worth it because I want to keep my sleeper look. No one would guess I have a 255 on the rear if they saw a stock rim They are truly a one-of-a-kind.

my deal is that i have 17x8 BBS wheels that i got for really cheap...i like them but i'd like to have wider wheels...at least a 9 in back if not 9 all around

how much do you think 1" bigger would cost? i figure it'd be the same since it's still the same work

Yea, the labor is the same for a 1", 2" or 3" addition. They guy who did my wheels uses a "blank" (either 15", 16", 17"...yada) and cuts it to the needed width. Then welds it to the back of the original wheel.

Ye Ole Repair and Welding Shop is a good shop. I had them straighten one of my SSR GT3's. But, since I only asked for them to be "straightened", they did not refinish it. Lesson learned. You have to ask for it to be straightened and refinished. It was cheap (like $100) and is straight.

yes they can fix that...that is what wheel repair is all about...although for the price, i'd suggest finding another stock wheel in a junkyard or something
