State Police.

They are higher up the command chain then county cops usually. They are also tasked to pursue higher profile/more intriguing cases because their jurisdiction goes beyond a single county/city.

i am just wondering which would look better on me because i am currently in the marine corps and i am contemplating whether i should reenlist or get out and get into law enforcement. which is what i want to do when i get.

 

you're on your own on that one. Nobody does that currently.

 

I wonder who pays more, I would think State troopers but FFX got that money, so IDK.

 

Northern VA, we don't have law enforcement officers, we have traffic enforcement officers. If you want to catch real criminals, MPDC and PG are the way to go(both are highering too).

FFX is one of the highest paying PD's in the country, but it is difficult to get in. State Police, the pay kinda sux, but you have the option of transfering to another region of the state where the cost of living is way less.

I would also try Loudoun, the pay is ok but, they need officers bad right now.
