verizon FIOS
FIos has been banging, like never any slowdowns, almost always fast as hell for me, i get download speeds on the regular if the server is good like up to 1.2 mbps
i also upgraded fios over cox. More reliable connection, FASTER, and the same price. Hell of a move. You don't share connection with other people like cox, I download at 630 kbps (on a fast server) consistently. Connection almost never drops like cox does.
oh yeah, if you're getting the 15mbps, dont expect speeds of like 5mb/sec downloads, its hard to find a server that will max out your connection.
this is another reason i went back to 5mbps and saved the $10/mo

had cox for 5yrs - started at 2mbps, then they upgraded everyone to 5mbps a couple of years ago. it was great for me, i never had any problems - except having to disconnect and reconnect the router after like a month or so because of dead packets stuck in its ram (thus bogging down the router).
once fios came out, see ya cox. i've had fios for about 1.5yrs now, since it came out in my area. i was the 2nd to have it and speeds have been constant and great. i've never had any down time since i've had it. i was on the 15mbps plan ($10 more, for 3 times the speed, why not?) speeds were great, i wasn't downloading as much so i decided to save me the $10 a month and get the 5mbps plan. i recommend fios to anyone, it's great. i had a power outage a couple of months ago, went for like 1hr, i decided to see if it was true, that the backup battery will still keep the fios working, during a power outage. well it did - hooked my laptop up to the wall. i was surprized.
when fios tv came out, i got it, i had cox digital cable before that, cox cable wasn't too good. fuzzy channels, once in a while it'd die. fios tv has been flawless. video on demand is great, their prices are great, dvr is a must.
since i've had fios products, i haven't had any complaints. i'd recommend it to anyone.

its not available on Fort Belvoir. im stuck with shitty ass MDU Communications. Speed is "up to 1.5mbps". i usually download at 30KBps. mother fawkers have a contract or some shit for my development so its like a damn monopoly. i pay $35 a month for less than dialup because its my only choice. messed up aint it?
