VA Beach vs. NOVA
Traffic, it's been said before, I'll say it again. I actually didn't move to Cleveland b/c the roads/traffic suck. The city itself is fucking awesome, but I like to drive (I feel the same about NOVA, can't drive except off hours)
People: It's who you hang around, you hang around kids and heroin addicts thats on your ass, find some new friends. This is the same with whatever other groups you find offensive or pleasing...if demographics are important to you find the best fitting city (or perhaps more appropriantly, a part of a city).
Cars: I have friends up there that bitch about the same shit that happens here and some think its worse. There's a bigger population up there, of course there will be more fast and nice cars, at the same time more shit too...
Cost of living: It's my opinion that if you can afford to live in a higher cost of living area while your younger than do it. While a house might cost 3X as much you salary should partially compensate. A 30K car still costs 30K up there, and you make more. Living in higher cost then retiring to lower is great, doesn't work the other way around unless you have the big bucks.
Weather: Summer sucks just as much in NOVA and the winters are worse.
I lived up there for a short time, made good money and all, but just didn't like it. Didn't think I really fit in b/c I didn't have big bucks (maybe I was hanging in the wrong areas though... Dupont, Georgetown etc). Overall I just didn't like it, too much traffic, crime is worse (stat not opinion), and the Redskins and Orials suck.

Although like was mentioned earlier....
In 757, they'll steal your car radio. In NoVA, they'll steal your entire car!
I've lived in Va Beach for my whole life and came up to NOVA to go to school. I really like NOVA cause it's so close to DC, but that's about it. Traffic sux in NOVA and so do the cops. In Va Beach you can basically get anywhere you want in about 15 mins. The people are friendlier too, especially since they speak english. Not to mention, Wendy's in Va Beach has Sweat Tea, in NOVA when you ask for Sweat Tea they look at you like your from the Deep South. It's true that NOVA has a lot of nicer cars than Va Beach, but they stand out more in Va Beach because not many people have then. This just makes you look like more of a baller.

It may apply to you, but this is not a true statement for all.

and this statement does not apply to me.
