until your watching them rape your wife or girl or daugther and taking your stuff while you lay there like a flipped over turtle helpless..I will take jail if it means protecting my family....but I would not shoot someone tring to steal my car from infront of my house.

since the cops have done such a great job gettin them back? I wouldnt shoot them, but i would like to legally brandish and let that mother fucker know he needs to get the fuck away from it. My cousin just had his Type R stolen this week and brought up a good point. he KNOWS it was stolen by MS13, and had he or his girlfriend happened to walk out while they were stealing it, more than likely would have gotton his ass beat, if not worse. once i am done with school i WILL live in one of the other 49 states that allows me to protect my property

yeah, except when you get sued and have to pay a lawyer $20,000+ to represent you for taking a persons life just b/c they were trying to take you radio.

oh yeah, and the years of mental repercussions that you will inevitably be subject to because you killed someone's father, son, cousin, child, ect..

 

Yeah and that 20k is just the retainer. Notice how I posted YOULL GET SUED? thats pretty much a given if you shoot someone, but he was questioning going to jail, which shouldnt happen, although fairfax county worries me. Oh and i dont think you know what a forcible felony is either. Rape, murder, things of that nature. Not stealing a radio.

 

The given scenario was getting your car broken into, not getting your girl raped. If that's the case, blast away, but if somebody is stealing your rims or trying to take your car, then as much as they deserve it, you can't just shoot them and not expect to go to jail.
