From the VA official inspection procedure

8. – INSPECT STEERING & SUSPENSION FOR: (Jack up front end as shown in Manual)

Wear in bushings, kingpins, ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rod ends.

Looseness of gear box on frame, condition of drag link and steering arm.

Play in steering wheel.

Wheel alignment and axle alignment.

Broken spring leaves, and worn shackles.

Shock absorbers.

Broken frame.

Broken or missing engine mounts.

Lift blocks.

dosen't say anything about the car being lowered

I aggree, i've had a few places not want to do it, because they couldn't lift it.

If FC735 took the time to read instead of want to argue, he'd realize he brought up legalities (state or local). But instead, i guess he would rather try and sound smart/powerful when hes really just pissing on his own shoes.

chintzy=those shitcan ground controls and ones like it. if the spring perch is not rigidly attached to the strut, it can flop around and cause issues. that is not legal. neither is having cut springs. neither is having lift blocks on a steer axle. riding on the bumpstops technically does not pass, due to the fact the vehicle does not have sufficient suspension travel.

if the vehicle is lowered correctly, which i may add that they are few and far between that are done correctly, it is perfectly fine and legal per state inspection requirements. (some examples of correct: drop springs, correct struts or shocks to work with the lower spring travel, and the alignment of the vehicle is correct to not cause a wander or unsafe travel)

if you got (for instance, a honda which has a double wishbone suspension, and are the worst for negative camber when lowered) a civic that is slammed, and the neg camber wear is terrible...i can legally reject that vehicle due to incorrect alignment.

faggot with power? i dont think so. that is a pretty shitty attitude to have. someone is trying to inform you of state laws pertaining to inspection requirements, and you think that you know more about vehicle laws then someone who might actually do that for a living? hmm.

(btw...its ounce. not once.)

for one time i actually try to offer assistance to someone in NOVA......some schmuck from the area does their usual stupid comments and such.

how would me taking the time to read (which i have read every post on here twice, looking for something i missed that you feel the incessant need to be a complete fucking tool that wants to argue) that i would see legalities?

thread starter wanted to know if his car was legal for inspection. it was lowered. i state how it is legal unless done sloppily/chintzy/etc.

what am i missing here?
