Thumbs up Re: red light camera ticket

Red light camera's are for greed, nothing to do with safety. The Australian Road Research Board (ARRB) proved this with a 10 year study on the effectivness of red light camera's Now keep in mind Australia was also the first country to implement the use of red light camera's. At the end of a 10 year study, the ARRB concluded that the overall accident rate at intersections had increased, at some by over 40%. The conclusion was......"red light camera's are not effective in reducing accidents, as they merely trade one type of collision for another". I know all this as I wrote a 12 page argument paper on this. I have to give a big thumb up to the VA legislature for removing them.

What fascinates me is that there was a test done here in Fairfax County, several years back where the yellow light interval was increased by an extra second. You know what they found....that the accident rate at those test intersections DECREASED by a larger percentage than those where they installed the red light camera's. Redlight camera's for safety....my ass. I'm glad there being removed.
