Default Reckless driving ticket 84/60, got lucky

Back in July I got a ticket for going 84/60 in prince william county going up rt 66 during rush hour. I was speeding without a doubt, so I received my ticket and drove away without any other issues. Well my first court date was back on september 14, but I didn't have any money at that time so I asked for a continuance. The judge was quick to nod and approve, even though the cop seemed a little pissed that it was dragging on.
The case got rescheduled for november 16, and I was bummed out that I would have to pay for a huge fine and get points on my license. What's even worse is that my court time docket was 10:30, and when I woke up and saw the clock it was 10:37, so I hauled ass to the courthouse and got there at 11:20 only to find out that they were running behind and still going on the 9:00 cases from that morning. Waited and waited, around 2 pm my name was called out. Looking through the room I realized my cop wasn't there, so I plead not guilty and the case was dropped since the officer didn't show up. No court fees, no ticket, no points. Proves the point that going to court over a ticket may not be a bad thing because it could sometimes work in your favor. Good luck to others that have tickets that are pending a hearing soon

It's ok, I forgot my gun. You can get off with a warning

Hey i got a question, i got pulled over in Fauqier county for 75 in a 55, but got it reduced to 74 in a 55. Supposedly the officer said he had me on radar but in amidst of it all i forgot to ask if i could see the radar. Is it ok to ask an officer to see the radar? Do they have to show you the radar how fast you are going if they said they radar'd you? Whats weird is how the officer stated that he was travelling the opposite direction of me and said i went through the intersection at 75. Anyhow is there anything i can say to alleviate the charge to a lesser charge? I am also going to drivers improvement tomorrow so when i go to my court date on dec 8th it'll atleast show i did somethiing in reference of my ticket.

You can ask to see the gun for Laser and I believe pacing also. I don't think you can ask for radar. I'm not too sure though, its been so long since the cop who taught the aggressive driving class told me.

They don't have to show you the radar gun, even if you ask.

you can ask for the calibration sheet, if it's done within 6 months of your ticket its valid (before or after).
