Gainesville chat thread
Well, no longer do I live in the shithole known as Sumerduck. No more 51 mile commutes to work.....no more driving 20 min to get to civilization. Rather, I'm now a 1 min walk to a grocery store, resturants, gas stations.....and like a 3 min drive to even more resturants, a Target super center, a Best Buy, etc etc. Plus the new apartment is pretty sweet too. Life is good.

Re: Moved to Gainesville!
Well I was already fighting it no matter what. I used to take 17 to 29, then 29 to 66, and I get off at exit 62 (Vienna/Fairfax). So I've completely cut the Rt. 17 portion of my trip out, and I'm only on 29 for like 5 minutes now instead of 20 minutes. My commute went from 51 miles one way to 21 miles one way. No more wasting gas all the time, and no longer am I am mileage whore.

Re: Moved to Gainesville!
But yeah, I USED to live in Sumerduck, which absolutely sucked. The closest town was Bealeton, which also sucked. I never really went to F-burg b/c all my friends lived north of me, not south of me, so I typically was in the Warrenton/Gainesville area in my spare time. Needless to say, its nice to live in that area now.

Re: Moved to Gainesville!
^ I realize I'm "old" compared to most on this site, but I'll take this area over most in NoVa. Not having to deal with traffic all the time is nice; I hated living in Springfield and Woodbridge where you couldn't even go anywhere on a weekend, much less a weekday because of traffic everywhere. I'm a little west of Gainesville (Vint Hill), so I don't have to deal with the 29/66 weekday congestion, but at least that's really the only area that gets bad. We're starting to get more restaurants, stores, etc out here now.
