In a month or 2 I'm gonna be posting up a thread for a nova meet. remember the old ones from the good days over at town center? I'm gonna get another 1 of those together and rolling once it gets a lil warmer and all.

 

Yeah but a large meet like that doesn't work these days. There's just too many asshats who will attract the cops and get us kicked out by the business owners.


I dunno, times will always change. This is natural social evolution and decay. A few years back, the "community" was closer, most people knew eachother more and thus the e-thuggin didn't get quite so bad. I also "want" to say that people understood a little more about cars and shit and were genuinely interested in gaining knowledge about it. But now people take the easy way of just talking tough on the internet (fuckin faggot fuck fuck bitch faggot!) rather than trying to be an adult and speak intelligently and show a modicum of courtesy or respect. I feel like, there's a large silent majority of decent members here that barely post because they just don't care to deal with the constant flaming, inside jokes, non-sequiter responses, and played out internet jokes/pictures. And though there is probably a certain sense of pride in that "yeah i can hang on Drag and dish it out when I need to" but it's really killing the community in general.

What about megameets? Those use to be really good... the last one we had was alright... try to get those started up again? I dunno...

 

too many idiots at the megameets got it shut down. the organizers haven't been able to find another venue.

i agree with u guys, i remember the first time i signed on here is because of m boy simon, and i went to the last megameet u guys had and it was alright, but like u said there are too many lil kids out there that dont wanna take the time to actually understand the meaning of a dollar and actually realizing what it feels like to build ur own car. I kno ive been on here a few times and i have a couple infractions before but that was because i was looking out for a friend of mine. I think that the reason why the NOVA section sucks is because of too many kids out here think there adults and think that the only way to get there cars remotely built is to steal from other people. Im from NOVA myself and im almost 30 years old and im not perfect by all means, but I do understand what it means to enjoy the meaning of a dollar and how good it feels to build my own car and be able to go to the track and say to myself "I did that" with a shit eattin grin on my face. I agree with all of u guys tho. Sorry for the long ass statement im just telling u guys how I feel.

 

uhh no? Megameet got shut down because SOO many people were showing up it was filling up the commuter lot and people were overflowing in the parking lot above the commuter lot. All the business owners were complaining about their customers not having anywhere to park. It didn’t have anything to do people the way people where acting. I think the mega meet was probably one of the only meets were people were actually civilized and there wernt people doing burnouts or speeding around everywhere.
