Is it just me? Or... does the Nova Section well... suck....
I never understood how people's vag keep bleeding as they express discontent about a site, yet they keep coming back? Would you keep going to a barber that fucks your hair up everytime? Idiots.
Couple questions I have...
What is the intent of the "regional" forums?
Is it for Technical discussions?
Is it so members can find each other to hang out with?
What is the intent?
The reason I ask this is pretty simple... There's a lot of fluff on this site, and I agree with the other negative comments about the conduct/age of some, and the lack of automotive knowledge of some. The one BIG concern the "community" should have is the representation of technical information, if posted here or elsewhere. Who'se confirming that someone has actually performed the work themselves? Or that a DIY mod is actually SAFE? If you want your site to be successful, it has to have "some" rigor" inplace to vet the BS and keep the technical data useful and accurate.
I recognize a number of the members here from other sites I've either administered, been a mod of, or a member of. So I know there is some "REAL" talent out on this board. The question is, how do you guys balance those guys, keep them here, and not scare them off with all the kids?
But back to NOVA regional forum... What's the intent?

Here is our perspective on what we are going to be doing. Remember this is just partial info.
Since recent the Admins decided to make Vadriven more solid to expand our reach to a more general use of these forums beyond just automotive enthusiasts.
We are hoping to bring people together for events and share their interests
Furthermore we hope business owners will interact with the locals and maybe setup events where locals can attend. Our goal as moderators is to make sure local people stay interested in participating in community events and discussions.
On the note of moderators we will make sure new members are treated properly and guide them in the right direction if they have questions.
Aside from people quarreling with each other we as moderators can only give our input on what we think is right or wrong instead of taking sides. We cannot decide for him or her what he or she needs to be doing on here. We want discussions, activities to be on a mature and civil manner. We will guide threads in a positive direction and clean up any bs posts if necessary including issuing warnings or infractions depending on the weight of the issue. Most of the times I just send a warning through a pm. That way the member doesn't freak out. We do not want to make members vision that we are on a power trip. Although if you start to flame and rant about people we will move your thread to SPO. Every section has a function and so does SPO.
I hope this explains what the Regional nova section perspective is. For a more clarifying view please pm the admins, eng or sung.
Regardless, things should change here including the attitudes and egos of some that need finetuning. It's not that big of a deal to me since I don't live on this forum like some do. But it's Nova. I already know a couple people from this forum. Jason, Raven, and a few others. I never have had a problem with them. They like automotive related things like I do. Keep it real.
