its really not that bad.. for the idiots that take the highway at 5:30 yes it is a parking lot.. but there are soo many side roads to take that it takes me less then 5 minutes to get home..

Move to Maryland. Traffic up there isn't nearly as bad as over here in VA b/c you don't have to use a bridge to get into the city. Depending where you move it is also cheaper then living in VA.

traffic isnt as bad, but the roads are a fucking disaster, and more or less he would prolly gotta move to pg county, which has the most crime in the nation lol

For 70k he could move to Anne Arundel and commute into DC on 50...or he could move into Montgomery and take the Red Line into the city if he doesn't want to drive into town. PG isn't a bad place to drive through, it just sucks to live there.

As for crappy roads, don't kid yourself, VA doesn't have such great roadways to drive lowered cars on either. The only true hellhole in MD for lowered cars is Baltimore City b/c they don't believe in repaving the concrete roads they built in 1945.

In the end, there are pros and cons to living on both sides of the Potomac, so research both throughly and choose whichever area fits you and your budget best.
