Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, MMA, etc in the area
Make sure you look up the background of the trainers before you join, especially BJJ. I mean if you can find a Gracie school for the same amount of some guy that learned from a guy who learned from a girl who learned from a guy that lived in Brazil, you'd be stupid not to take that class.
www.goldmedalgrappling.com FTMFW my good friend elijah owns it.
i'm a member there (gmg) and easily one of the best in the area and has one of the best fight teams in the d.c. metro area. as well as one of the most wallet friendly around, lol. several of the fighters hold local ameture fight titles.
one of our newest members was a fighter that migrated up from "the cave" in fredricksburg, he said he's learned more at gmg in a month than he's learned his entire time at "the cave".
two of our guys are going pro this year, one is kris "savage" mccray (9-0-0 am) and the other justin "the butcher" hickey (6-1-0 am) will be in nov. or dec.
