Interesting Fact on Red-Light Cameras
*Some people probably already know this, sorry for making you read
Well I was doing a little lesson in my Criminal Justice class and we came about the topic on Red light cameras...
Now my teacher isn't just a chump teacher they picked up off the streets, he was a FFXC cop for a good 20 years.. So I'm sure his info is legit.
Now we got into talking and he told me that the Red light cameras are actually going to all be removed pretty soon due to the fact that they cause more accidents compared to doing any good. He showed me the statistics and bullshit and showed me an article explaining how they went through congress to remove them.
Soooo pretty soon, im guessing mid to end of summer their will be no more redlight cameras, which is a good thing, but at the same time doesn't give people any excuse to run a red light.
Any thoughts, comments?
Cliff notes: VA aprroved the removal of Red-Light Cameras, put into action soon.

i think the reasoning behind this is that they can prove it was yoru car, but they cant prove its you.
so you can claim you let your buddy's cousin's gf's gf borrow the car, and she ran the red light, and nothign happens to you
Red light camera's are for greed, nothing to do with safety. The Australian Road Research Board (ARRB) proved this with a 10 year study on the effectivness of red light camera's Now keep in mind Australia was also the first country to implement the use of red light camera's. At the end of a 10 year study, the ARRB concluded that the overall accident rate had increased, by over 40% at some intersections. The conclusion was......"red light camera's are not effective in reducing accidents, as they merely trade one type of collision for another".I wrote a 12 page argument paper on the effectiveness of Red Light cameras. I have to give a big thumb up to the VA legislature for removing them.
There was a test done here in Fairfax County, several years back where the yellow light interval was increased by an extra second. You know what they found....that the accident rate at those test intersections DECREASED by a larger percentage than those where they installed the red light camera's. Redlight camera's for safety....my ass. I'm glad there being removed.

I agree red-light cameras, HOV ticketing, aggresive driver cameras and air traffic patrol(where they use the plane radar to issue speeding tickets in the mail) are soley to collect revenue for the local governments.
If they were really concerned about safety, they would have speeding cameras in neighborhoods and respond swiftly to dangerous driving in the suburb areas where children are out playing.
There was a F&F f**ker up the street last weekend litterly racing around the block like it was a road course. There were children out playing(luckily for him, not mine) and I never seen a cop one. I start my racecar up and start reving it, they will be there in 10 minutes.... WTF is wrong with our society
