i raced a moped. on a moped. i lost by a length. it wasnt that far though.

 

I don't think he is bragging about his bike. The bike is a decent model, but nothing special. It is just a Schwinn, and they are not even an American company any more. That being said, I have no idea of the top speed or acceleration of a moped. I know that a road bike rider in decent shape should be able to average about 25mph on decent tires for a quarter mile.

I think the guy on the bike will accelerate faster then the moped, but I think in the long run the moped will come out ahead. Race an 1/8 mile instead.

Good point. But maybe someone has a little brother or nephew who has one they can borrow.

No deal. There's a big difference between a moped with a top speed of 25-30 mph and a pocket bike with a top speed of 50 mph.
