getting paint job
My car was keyed all around a few weeks ago. It's going to the shop in a few weeks. They asked me if I wanted a single stage or two stage job. He said a single stage is when they mix the clear coat with the paint and the two stage is the spray the car with base then they spray the clear after. What's the difference either way? Will the single stage fade over time faster or chip easier?

Re: getting paint job
well iv talked to a couple painters about this for my own cars but it was between a 2 stage and a 3 stage paint job and they all said it depends on how you want the car to look. if you want the car to look like its wet then i would say get the 2 stage. mixing paint and clear together is the cheap way out and im pretty sure thats how macco or how ever you spell it does there paint jobs. my 2 cents. better off getting the 2 stage.

Re: getting paint job
2years ago they quoted me $1900 to paint my DA. A year later it was $2900, this year it's $4000. That's just crazy to try and charge so much.
