Default FCPD introduce new technology...

Just wanted to see if you guys have seen or have used this new software

Police Introduce New Technology
Fairfax County Police are now able to instantaneously identify someone by their fingerprints and photograph while on the street. The Northern Virginia Automated Fingerprint System (NOVARIS) has received funding from the Office of Homeland Security to upgrade the fingerprint identification system with the latest technology including facial recognition software.

The Department purchased 50 portable Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) units. The units can be used to identify a person by scanning two index fingers and taking a photograph. Any person with a criminal record will be searchable through the AFIS unit. Once a match is made, a photo of the individual and the correct identification will appear.

This upgrade will significantly improve police capabilities to track criminal activity throughout the region, combat terrorism, contribute to gang intelligence gathering and solve a greater number of crimes. NOVARIS is a member of the National Capital Regional Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NCR AFIS).

Unless you are planning a B&E then this shouldn't be a problem...

Hell maybe they will get so carried away with there new toy that they will ease off the tint and exhaust tickets a bit?...

I can hope right? =/

Yeah, right.

You mean they'll start fingerprinting everyone for routine traffic stops.

i dont understand why some of you are complaining, this is just new technology to fight crime, which shouldnt really effect any of us. If a cop stops to finger print you, you probably deserve it

baby steps. this is harmless now, but can't you easily foresee a later step being requiring everyone's fingerprints and an entry into this system, "for everyone's safety"?

I'm not saying it's going to happen, just that it could, and it'd be relatively easy. It'd also be fucking outrageously wrong.

I'm complaining because I'm ideologically opposed to an overbearing federal government.

I guessing people with a record would be taken more serious and most likely get the ticket....
