Hey guys, I gotta pass emissions testing this month. Right now i have a Kakimoto GT-0 full turbo back exhaust (no cat), althought my up-pipe is still stock, so i guess i have only one cat in my car. Does anybody know if i will fail emissions like this? also what happens if i fail? and last, does anybody know a place that i can go that will pass me so that i dont have to take this off and put the stock one back on? (thats such a pain in the asssss!)

well just go to the dmv and change your principal garage to a place/ county where there isnt emission testing yet simple fix good places are fredericksburg richmond roanoke any place in the mountain. just look up the existing county that have emission in Va and then choose any other county possible that doesnt have it as your principal garage and you will no longer be required to passs emissions until that county gets emissions testing.and when that happens reap the above. untill every county in Va has emission then pick a new state. lol thats what im doing.

and I have a 3 inch cat back with a gutted cat straight piped with an atmospheric BOV and atmospheric wastegate dump tube then I have no EGR because im running a JDM motor. so yea im fucked for emission also but that will help im about to go and take the safety inspection tomorrow then im gunna go to dmv and get registration and change my principal garage.

Dont you have to show a proof of residency in order to pull that stunt off.

 

yeah he would have to show proof of residency..you would be better off getting the car registered where you goto school, i dont think theres emmissions down there (blacksburg i suppose from what your location says)

 

yea EEK i was thinking about that... i just thought it would be the easiest if someone out there could hook it up for me =P wishfull thinking i know. Also i think Blacksburg has emissions testing there... but im not positive on that

 

As many times as I've been through emissions, I've yet to see one tech look underneath the car to check for emissions equipment.

With that said you could probably tune your car enough on a dyno to make it pass.

 

you dont have to show proof of residency at all its easy as 123 cuase say i go to college sum where else than woodbridge im not a resident there. im temp. but my car is in frederics burg or richmond for 8 months out of 12 year instead of in prince william county why would i say that my car is in woodbridge all year pay taxes for it and do teting for a place i hardly stay. trust me My boy does it every time he goes. and he leaves his same home adress in woodbridge and says his car is in fredericksburg. and his taxes for fredericks burg get sent to his house in woodbridge they dont ask questions if they do then just make a bull shit answer it aint hard to get around. i just though of my lie that i go to a college in that area and my car is there 9 months out of a year

making it my principal garage. they only ask if they are assholes

 

it also helps if you work in a garage, like me, they pretty much just write you off. You'de be surprised though, i have seen cars pass w/o a Cat. before, I've been told if the engine has been well maintained and not too many miles on the engine, then most little import 4 cy. engines will pass w/o one.
