Drag Racing Leads to Death of Teen
yea they still havent listed the name of the kid in the mustang, aparently the kid is being charged with manslaughter so yea hes pretty fucked...
I bought a RWD rx7 turbo when i was 17, and i still havent been pulled over or gotten in an accident(most likely luck). it isnt the age or the car, it is knowing the right time and place to do things. We really need to try and end street racing, one to put a stop to the deaths, and another to get the cops off our ass.Take it to the track or some empty non-traveled road. I really hate reading about stories like this and my condolences go out to his family and all his friends.

I am under the mind set that no one under 18 should own a fast car, if you can't legally take responsibility for your own actions then you should not have a vehicle capable of taking others lives. I will grant you that you can kill someone with a honda civic but its a lot harder then say with a supra.
This is again coming from someone who owned a RWD V8 when he was young and every car I have owned except one was RWD and fast. I know how stupid I was.
Any car can kill, a teen driving wreckless in a expedition will do a hell of alot more damage to others than lets say some kid driving a mustang or camaro. This is why i dont agree with the way insurance is. Sports cars can accelerate and brake and handle its way out of danger, where if your driving a huge SUV or truck you will not only total the other cars involved but you wont be able to correct as easy to aviod the wreck. Like i said before it isnt the car, it is the person. Im also not saying teens arent more wreckless than adults, because it is proven that the risky decision part of the brain isnt fully developed until mid 20's, but i think a wreckless driver is a wreckless driver, the car they are driving is irrelevent.

They both will total a car, but how bad will it screw the driver.

Right but most kids your age only know how to do the things they shouldn't be doing. I know b/c I was one of those kids and it wasn't that long ago either. No kid has any business near a RWD sports car. The parents should be dragged out into the street and shot.

). most of the WORST drivers i have seen drive the most "innocent" vehicles. and it's amplified by the age. with older people the idea of sports car = more reckless makes sense. but below the age of 25 or so, from what i've seen, a shitty driver is a shitty driver regardless of what they drive. leaving high school i would always drive the speed limit and be passed by kids in saturns and camrys going like 75 in a 45 all the way home
Cars aren't the problem. It's the mentality is America's fucking youth today that thinks they are invincible behind the wheel. Shit, if I saw some kid coming up fast on my tail, I would block both lanes so he can't pass.
