Drag Racing Leads to Death of Teen

(Springfield, VA) -- A teenager has died after yesterday's multi-vehicle crash
in Springfield. Fairfax County Police say 17-year-old Adam Foote was drag racing
in a Mustang against another teen in a Camaro along Old Keene Mill Road. Police
say Foote was traveling at a high rate of speed when he hit a truck, which then
hit another car. Police say one other teen is injured.

I can understand doing it in the middle of nowhere on a deserted road with points of entry blocked off but stuff like this is scary.

seriously tho.. its always a shame when a child dies, even if he was doing something stupid like street racing. condolences go out to the family
That's sad. This is a prime example of why kids should not be able to own powerful cars. I just met a kid today (17) whose dad bought him an 03 Lightning for his 16th bday and for his 17th, got him an 04 Saleen Mustang.

I am pretty lucky to be alive considering some of the dumb shit I have done in my car.
But all you can really do is try to learn from your mistakes.
or maybe some proper parenting would have helped the situation.
A buddy of mine sold his 550hp blown 93 Mustang GT to a guy who was buying it for his 16 year old kid. The very next day, the kid hits a tree doing a 100 on some back country road in manassas and dies. That's like putting a packed full crack pipe in front of a crackhead's face and expecting him not to touch it.
