Considering i have a resturant job, this defently will help me lol. Having a CAD job helps getting into the field more than serving food to rich white folks who pay way too much for American food.

if it's just a different job you're looking for, then go ahead...but if you're going to school for mechanical engineering then the job won't benefit you any as far as knowledge of the field you're going in...civil and mechanical are like apples and oranges...

Wages - As far as payscale I can't say, it's not up to me. Right now I'm making about 50 a year here (I'm underpaid as I have 10 years experience in AutoCAD and about 7 in civil site design). The position is hourly +OT so you can always supplement your base income with OT. I'm sure you could ask for anything from 30-40.

Hybrid AWD - I'm leaving my position as "Senior Design Technician" (glorified term for Sr. CAD tech) to take a position at the same company as the CAD Manager/IT guy. So I won't be doing production work anymore. I will be available to help train my replacement. I didn't take it as an insult but I would hardly call LDD (Land Development Desktop) dumb. Straight CAD sure but LDD has a slew of stuff going on that is far from dumb (pipe design linked to alignments, surfaces, spreadsheets, and profiles - road grading and tie outs based on horizontal and vertical alignments, etc...).

Silverbullet86 - Currently they are looking for one full-time employee (no interns), since I'm not sure what your class schedule looks like (nights/days), I don't know if this would be a good position for you.

BLU CIVIC - I've tried pulling some people out of Potomac Falls (they have the CAD program that used to be at CS Monroe Votech) but the teacher over there keeps sending people that want to go to college (not that college is a bad thing but I need a Full Time employee). I haven't tried ITT...that's a descent idea.

Quentin - I'm sure this place will still be hiring. If not here there are a ton of jobs for CAD personnel available. Some are willing to train.

EDIT:
Anyone interested can contact me at the office (703) 729-9009, between the hours of 8:30-5:00 ask the receptionist for Owen, after 5:00 extention 214. I'm typically around until 6:00 or so.

If you have a resume you can bring it with you or you can fill out the entire application here at the office.

Jester Si - I don't know about the felony but it's not like you're handling money or anything here and it was 7 years ago. 4 years prior experience is 4 years prior experience. Not much has changed as far as the basics go there's just some more commands now with nicer options. It's more experience than I was thinking I would find here.

I'll check and see if we have any kind of policy on Felons and post back here in a few.
