maybe you guys should get lives and quit scanning the site 24/7 and maybe the server wouldnt be so clogged! LOL j/k

i come on at night (prime time it seems) and never have a problem getting on. i remember a time when it seemed like the server was going down every five minutes... coincidentally, it was also a time before i got hold of my addiction to this site! lol...

p.s. i became a patron for the site sponsored events.... and the ones ive been to show the money is well spent!

 

er....so i did the patron thing....how do i know it kicked in?

 

delete all the threads that have not had any activity on them after 6 months. idk my useless opinion. even f/s threads that are over with.

Yours hasn't gone through because you paid via echeck which takes time to clear. The payment_status in the log is listed as pending.

Any more details you'd have to get a hold of Sung, as I can't check the actual PayPal status other than what the log spits out.

 

I don't do paypal. I tried to contact Sung over a week ago about getting a 1 year patron member ship. any help?

None of the patron money had went to the BBQs or GTGs. The few of us that organize them have funded the events. The people coming to the events also support by brining food/money/utensils/other needed items.

I'm still trying to get Eng or Sung to drop the DC/NC threads. The traffic on those threads alone is killer, I'm sure.

 

How so?

 

A couple other forums I frequent had threads like the DC/NC threads. After a while, they started getting database errors or similar messages. Users were going to those threads and hitting refresh after posting looking for new posts. They then keep on refreshing. It's being used a chat room basically. There is a ton of information being accessed at once. Then there are multiple people doing this. Thos threads probably have as many posts are nearly all the other off topic threads combined. 60k posts and well over half a million views in one thread? Jeez.

They'd purge those threads every few days and the problems disappeared. Eventually, the threads disappeared because it's just easier.
