Default windscreen regulation

Hey guys, just had a quick question. Do you need to have a clear windscreen on your motorcycle in VA? i just bought a motorcycle and it came with a painted windscreen. thanks

i can get the code for you we just tinted a lieutenant's tahoe day before yesterday and he brought out the tint tester and printed us the legit code for tint

the only bad thing is that the clear windscreen is painted black..so i dont think you can test it. The only thing i can do if it is against the law is either buy a new windscreen or somehow use paint thinner and hopefully the paint can be removed. thanks for the info

You can have different color ones. My old Ninja had a smoke colored one and it passed everytime.

I don't believe there are any regulations, and if there are they definitely don't enforce them.

I believe that it is supposed to be the same as a tinted window. I do not think that it is legal. I think that it is really guaged to the harley riders that have the high wind screen that you have to look through. It is not a law guaged towards sport bikes only or Harleys only. So since you dont really look through a wind screen on a sport bike... its not really inforced.. but I think that it is a law if the cop wanted to be a dick.

it's only illegal if you have to look thru it in a normal riding position. then it would be considered an obstruction of view.
