I think the 2004 SS champ was a Hayden riding a Kawa, I'm not 100% sure tho.

After reviewing bikes for 6 months, I went with the Honda 600RR. My final decision was based on QUALITY and all around performance. The 636 was my second choice. Face it guys....they ARE so close in performance that any one of them would be a good choice. I asked several salesmen if money was no object, which would they pick. 600RR was chosen by more with the R6 a close second. Kawasaki was a little suspect in quality. I think the Honda shifted the best and had the best handling. The Honda was a little lacking in midrange when compared to the 636. I think Honda did a great job on fixing some of their issues from the 04's. Lightened it up a bit and increased midrange power. I love the center exhaust. All good bikes.........
