I aint getting rid of my 1k, I'm just saying I miss the little things in life.....in this case, a 600
I mean, no bike is fun in a traffic infested area, but to have so much power that you can only shift twice..............the lack of work makes the riding no so much fun.
Besides, i gotta keep the 1k just to show you that Yamaha>Suzuki (sorry Bret
)
[QUOTE=Mr.6] I'm sure the GSXR1k's do it too, but 100+ in first gear alone is fucking insane.QUOTE] damn yer r1 goes to a 100 in 1st! i have an 03 and i wanna say mine only hits 80 redlined but its been awhile sine ive tested it. also in my opinion i love my 1k dont think i would ever downsize back to 600. but i think thats an ego thing i love knowin that the bike can leave jus bout anything on the interstate

I don't miss a 600 one bit. Though it has been many years ago that I had mine. But in all honesty I would be scared to go back or ride a 600. Reason, for so many years of riding a liter bike and respecting it to the fullest, I know I would push a 600 to the max. Just for simple fact of usable power, handling, weight, etc. And we all know when you reach the max.... bad things can happen.
Give me my 170+ hp 1000 anyday

The whole reason I ride a 1 on the street is that I ride in the midrange all the time. It's rare that I hit the stop, and I usually short shift about 7 grand. I could probably go faster on the street with a 600 ringing its neck, but just ask those that ride with me, I don't need to...
What's the prob with pushing 1-3rd on a 1k? As long as I'm leaning forward(all 145lbs of me) I don't have any problems with the wheel poppin up. Sitting upright is a different story however. I do agree with del la sol though, it sucks not being able to run through all the gears on the highway cuz the bikes so damn fast. I've read that the K5 and K6 1k's geometry was changed to control the wheelie factor specifically, maybe thats why it's not as much of a prob on my bike. All in all, I liked my 600, but you can't top the rush of a 1k wide open. And I know some riders can whoop a 1k in the twisties on a 600 depending on skillz, but so what? Equal riders would be a diff story and even if the 600 was tailin the 1k in the turns or vice versa, the 1k is going to make a ton of ground in the straights. Although I wouldn't mind having a 600 track bike, I doubt I'll ever go back to a 600 for the street.

I completely understand you.
This faggot named Adam convinced me that a 636 is a better bike.
