street bike battery life
okay so i just got a zx750.
never ridin before
today since it was nice i decided to learn how.after stalling out over and over i finally feel comfortable starting up and ridin.but about 30 to 40 min straight of ridin and stalling(mostly stalling) the battery dies.so i was wondering if anyone else has had this happen or is it just the alternator not keeping the battery charged cause of the short amount of time the bike was running.wasnt able to go get it charged or looked at.
just seeing if anyone has ideas.

Re: street bike battery life
There's certainly the possibility that the battery is bad, especially if the bike's been sitting unused and/or the battery is old.
That's also a lot of load on the battery to start the bike over and over.I know that my bike doesn't charge at idle/low RPM,so it's very possible it was getting little or no charge when it was running also.
Put a charger on it.If it charges,ride it.If not,replace it.
BTW-You're not doing this newb riding on public roads are you?!Holding the throttle at 75-80% and quickly letting out the clutch lever will fix the stalling problem.

Yeah you usually don't wanna let off at all. You want to find the friction zone...but MSF will teach you this, so please, for VA's sake go take the class.

Re: street bike battery life
Replace the battery(I would bet it's pretty old), if that doesn't solve the issue then test the stator, if the stator is fine then replace the rectifier.
