so i broke down
Well I just picked this up for $3,500 which isn't too bad considering it's already been completely gone thru. A few changes (espescially that ugly paint job) and she will be ready to roll.
You don't need money to buy an xs, they are almost free they are so cheap. The problem is finding one locally so that you dont have to pay more for shipping then for the bike itself. I have found a guy north of Richmond that has two of them in stock form and claims they are titled and run well for $1,000 for both of them and I am probably picking them both up. If you want, I will let one go for $500.
Skrooze, how much to build me a bike?
you can PM me if you wish
we'd have to discuss what exactly you want.
sabotage, that's a sweet ride man! let me know when you have it in your hands, i want to come check it out in person. looks a whole hellova lot like my first one.

somewhat the same as yours, but not a carbon copy... i like bobbys but i want to have a custom frame on it. something maybe like what Jeff has/had (i dunno if its still up there, haven't been up there in a while) up at his shop a while ago... when he bought that XS that was already cut up a bit. at least if i remember correctly it was
custom frame (ya thats probably the most expensive part) drag bars, forward controls, custom rear fender with a seat, or a magnetic seat i can put on it... spoked rims. i'm thinking all flat black and gold accents. thats all i have in my head right now anywho

werd, pretty standard stuff. how "custom" of a frame are we talking?
and IMO, i'd go with brass over gold any day, especially with flat black. looks alot better. that's just my opinion though.
yeah, jeff's is slightly cut up, but it's just got struts in place of the shocks, not a real rigid frame. that bike with a normal rigid rear, like mine or something, would look killer, and would be cheap to do. the wheels, tank, front end, brakes, etc, are all stock xs.

how much does the guy you bought that frame off of charge, or how much can i expect to pay for a nice custom frame.and i've never seen brass so i'll look around and see what it looks like. i was also thinking i'd want a springer seat on it so my asshole doesn't bleed with a rigid frame. honestly i like your bike, just would want a rear fender i can put a seat on, don't really think i'd want to put a springer front on it, and straight drag bars instead of bars that dip down like yours.
what are some option for the front end set up too? thanks
