Performance wise, all 600's are pretty much equal and it all comes down to rider preference. The 636 was built to top the others with more power. I've never really been a big kawi fan but they have an excellent racing history and I'm sure you wont be dissapointed.

Quality.......Honda for sure. Pure horsepower.......edge to 636 (hence the size diff). Handling......edge to Honda (better track performance). But the bottom line is that VERY few people here (myself included) could ever use either bike to it's full potential. I would consider the Honda to be a little more refined. Kawa is the disturbed cousin. I could've bought either and settled on the Honda.....the 600 class is very close in performance. However...........the new R6 is very nice. My .02.

636 all the way lol and u might ask why it's because i have one.... i like the 636 i rode both styles in the 05 versions and to me the 636 is what i liked but that's my .02

Got the 04 636 to and love teh bike. It does push you up on to the tank but you can adjust the bike to correct that. And the power is just so nice to be avle to twist the wrist and go.
