Noob needs help. (Kawi content...ZeroCool maybe?)
Bike is an 05 636 with 6000 miles.
So I just purchased my bike two weeks ago and have finally received the title to register it and completed the MSF course. Yesterday I rode around for a couple hours getting used to the bike and when I got off I noticed by rear brake resivoir there was a drop of fluid, so of course I inspect it and it was an oily substance. I wipe it clean turn the bike on and press the rear brake...no drippage. Today while riding I kept my eye on it and still seems to be leaking from the lid. I tightened it down all the way after taking it off and inspecting the seal, seems fine but I am completely new to all of this. Now should I replace the whole resivoir or is the sealing gasket prone to deteriorating?
Thanks Guys

Could be the gasket. Or maybe there is a hairline crack somewhere. Thats the only reasons I can think of that it would leak from the lid. you can buy an after-market lid or replace the whole reservoir all up to you.
I've had 6 Kawi's, never had the brake resovoir leak on me, so I am guessing it's an isolated incident. The gasket will probably be the cheapest thing to replace, but if you buy a whole new resovoir, you will probably get a gasket with it.
Try here to see if you can at least get a part number.

You can also go to http://www.bikebandit.com and find it cheaper than the dealership.

awesome guys thanks for the info! i called casey cycle city but they were too busy to help me at the moment and never called back so I figured this would be the next best place!
Would you recommend Sunrise then? I poked around online and the parts are the same price as what Casey said they can get them to me for.
The only local place I would deal with is Cycle Gear on Little Creek. I wouldn't buy a sticker from Scumrise; and I get (used to anyway) a 20% discount from them! I just don't like the way they did me on my last bike and a recall where it sat for 2 1/2 months without anything getting done...
You can also try D&D Cycles (also on Little Creek Rd by Hampton Blvd) or Cycle Trendz which is on Hampton Blvd by ODU. Both should treat you right. Honestly, I haven't dealt with either of them in a while, but the last time I was there, they both did me right. Also, Diva Customs at the beachfront, I believe it is on 17th ST in Va Beach...Skr00ze can tell ya, he works there.
I haven't had good luck with Casey, Scumrise, or Cycle World...they all seem like they have better things to do than help me. And I believe customer service should mean just that...customer service.

Ya I usually tend to stay away from casey as much as possible all their dealerships have customer service issues. But with that said they are the closest to me. Guess i'll have to venture farther to be satisfied. Thanks again
