well.. depends on how much money you want to spend. its pretty expensive and very addictive.

youll need full leathers, gloves, and boots. of course a dot approved helmet. other than that, if you run with nesba, thats the basics. a back protector isnt required, but i recommend it. i believe it saved me a great deal in my get-off at 110mph+.

if you are serious about it, just ask some more, there are a few people here that ride the track and we are more than willing to help out. afterall, we were all new to it at one point.

For pricing, schedule and information, you have to go through the organizations that will host trackdays.
It'll have all the information you need to get on the track.

www.nesba.com
www.teampromotion.com
www.sportbiketracktime.com/
www.cornerspeed.net

there are a couple more on the eastcoast.

Guys, It sounds to me like he doesn't even know what a track bike is.
If you're just starting out, then you don't need all of those suspension/quickshifter/performance parts that are sold with some of those bikes on wera, it only adds to the cost of the bike.

To make a basic track bike you need race fairings(no lights), and safety wiring throughout the bike.
Most racers on a budget will either use their street bike or buy a cheap ass, sometimes salvaged, bike. Since running lights won't be necessary on race tracks, most people do not even register their track bikes.

To get you started, there are tons of info on how to do a trackday on the websites that I listed above.

I believe that Nesba and Teampromotion have a "try the track" program for free. Take advantage of this program to see if you will like it.

Also, search this cycle forum and start the search from the oldest date. There are information posted on here about trackdays and racing.
