Re: New toy
thats one bad bitch... i can't wait to see how it compares against my bike and the all new other three 1000's for 2004... so far the tests have mine, the honda, and the kawasaki pretty much all dead even, but yamaha didn't provide a R1 for the testing, my guess is it will probably one up everything but we will have to see... i know in AMA racing the superstock R1 is going fast enough as the superbike machines in testing to be competitive, and thats a whole different class bike with a whole different level of modications allowed, definetly impressive
when you get it come to richmond and catch me on the interstate i'm dying to run all the new bikes

Re: New toy
Thanks guys I don't know about GSX-R 1000 that is a bad bike. The guy at the dealership said the 04 weighed 2oz more than the 600. Can we say wheelie monster. The zx-10 is 375lbs and has 184hp and the r1 is 379lbs with 180hp. The honda website doesn't have either one on the 1000rr and my computer won't pull up the suzuki website. So I don't think there will be that much of a difference.
Del we can do that. I just want to break it in right before I start beating the shit out of it.

Re: New toy
here are the numbers from the first real comparo... basically they are all equal, some do one thing a teeny tiny bit better than the other, but give them to a different set of riders and the order could easily all be flipped flopped, so in other words so far every 04' liter bike is dead even, i wish your bike was in this though
Here's the stat's:
1/4 standing mile:
Kawa - 10.5sec - 142.81mph
Honda - 10.55sec - 141.27mph
Gixxer - 10.55sec - 140.54mph
Top Speed:
Kawa - 179.8 - 31sec
Honda - 150 - called off due to ice
Gixxer - 179.03 - 32 sec
Braking 70-0:
Kawa - 50.101m - 3.88 sec
Honda - 50.247m - 3.74sec
Gixxer - 53.783m - 3.40sec
Top Gear Roll-on 40-120:
Kawa - 365.35m - 10.4sec
Honda - 416.97m - 11.4sec
Gixxer - 354.29m - 10sec
HP:
Kawa: 147.7 @11.600 - 1st
Gixxer: 144.4 @10,600 - 3rd
Honda: 146.6 @11,000- 2nd
TQ:
Kawa: 74.6 @9400 - 1st
Gixxer: 74.8 @9600 - 2nd
Honda: 73.9 @8600 - 3rd
the dry weights you didn't mention are 371 for my bike, and 396!!!! for the honda, but hondas are always heavy, they are just balanced so they perform well, but this year looks like they were big on power for the first time in a while.... but like i said, its all close enough to where a different group of test riders and a different dyno could probably change everything
