Re: Need Experienced Eyes and Opinions
Yeah guys I know that it has an ass ton of miles.. I was interested because it was a smalller cc bike, good for a newb like me. It's similar to the style of bike that I really want, and if I end up dropping it, which is what everyone says Im gonna do since Im a newb, I won't cry.. lol. I just don't wanna be taken for a "ride", you know. I think though it is at least worth a look. I am soo excited. Finally ready to buy one. Just don't wanna be a sucker. lol.. Thanx again for all the input.. Off to think some more again..
Oh yeah and Woodrow, thanx for payin attention. lol

One thing that sucks with old bikes is that if you don't know much about them, they're more likely to fall apart on you and you'll be out of luck trying to figure out what to do. End up dumping more money into it than you originally wanted.
You better believe it.

There aren't a whole lot of bikes out there easier to work on and cheaper to get parts for than a GS though. The basic engine design dates back to the late 60's and not a whole lot changed short of bore/stroke. And air cooling removes the complication of a cooling system. It's a great bike to learn how to work on bikes.
