if the bike was accelerating to 130 mph, the cop wouldnt be anywhere near the bike, so that's completely over exaggerated to say that speed. unless the douche bag has no idea how to ride and can't do shit.

his dumb ass fault for stunting in a non secluded area, where a cop can roll by and catch him. there's no way in hell he ever side swiped a fucking car, i don't give a fuck what you say.

and i'm no 100% sure but i think its illegal? or something for a cop to chase ANY vehicle up to that speed, bike or not, just because a law enforcement vehicle is just creating more danger then trying to enforce the law by putting up chase that fast.

I tried not to get into this; but here's my .02 cents:

Get the plate number and let him go; it's that simple. If you can't get the plate number; let him go.

He didn't murder anyone, no robbery took place. You have no idea if there's a warrant out for him.

He was speeding or popping a wheel......................whoopdy friggin' do. Nobody got hurt; let him go.

If you let him go no harm no foul.

If you chase him and he ends up killing himself and/or other people that's some bad ju ju.

Again; this is just my opinion.

you keep quoting a law that doesn't exist. Some departments have their own regs but most have no stated policy and leave it up to the discretion of the officer. So if you're doing 25 over on an empty road or highway then you have a good chance of being chased vs same speed in moderate traffic around town in the middle of the afternoon would result in them taking a description and no chase

i think i actually agree with cbr.... popping a wheelie or going 10 miles over the speed limit is no reason to chase someone at excessive speeds (110+)

10mph over is one thing, a wheelie is reckless driving (you can't steer well with the front wheel in the air), not to mention there aren't alot of people around here that know how to wheelie properly and "safely". if you can run down the interstate on the back wheel and hold 55-60 mph, steady, that's one thing, but most people can't, and they're accelerating the whole time the front wheel is in the air. by the time the front wheel's on the ground again, they're well over 10mph past the speed limit.

if you were getting pulled over for speeding at 10 over, and actually pulled over, there wouldn't be a 110mph chase!! hell, i'd take a speeding ticket over a felony evasion/reckless driving/etc charge any day. ever if you were to get stopped for doing a wheelie, it's still only a reckless driving charge, and that's better than going straight to jail, after you get out of the hospital because you wrecked trying to run from the cops.

it's all been pissing me off, as i can't even ride around like a normal rider, without every cop thinking i'm just going to take off, or waiting for me to do something stupid. all the people running from the cops is killing it for the rest of us. we all do dumb things on bikes from time to time. if you get caught, man up and take your ticket, don't be a dumbass and run from them, giving everyone on a sportbike a bad name.

I normally dont get on here and post, but just some random information for you guys...l i talked my neighbor who used to be a trooper and he said that the state police do not have any limitations when it comes to pursuits. They can travel as far and as fast as they feel necessary to catch someone. Alot of people seem to think that they cant go over 100 or 110 in a pursuit, but come on, think about it....if that were the case, everyone who was getting stopped for RD would just haul ass and be like....hahaha i can get away now, cause he's not allowed to catch me. I personally think the guy on the motorcyle was a stupid SOB, but he did have some balls. Im sure hes probably got some felonys racked up against him now....
