Default I know you guys probably get a million of these

...but i am going to buy my first bike soon

I've read skrooz sticky and i got a lot of good info from that

but i hat to do this but im going to ask for the most non-biased opinion for two bikes, both 600cc's

but before i ask ill tell you my intentions

This is going to be my first bike so obviously i am going to be learning the basics..

i plan on actually riding twisties as much as straights as much as possible

and am looking for something for decent bottom end power

if you need any more info on my intentions for you to help me decide just ask

but the bikes are both the new R6 or GSX-R600

I'm personally leaning toward the R6 since it's engine has been redesigned and has better midrange power, but i haven't found much info for the gixxer so any input would be appreciated

Ok so this is just me, butI learned on a bike that cost me 150$ in 1994. For a first bike I would take a look at the SV-650 its a Suzuki. It's a Vtwin so it will have the TQ that you are looking for and it will do more then you need in the corners and what not. Best of all they can be had for 3000$ or less with low miles on it and you can sell it when you are ready for an upgrade. Also theres no expencive plastic to break if you drop it. Ive been on bikes for almost 15 years and thats my recomendation. Get a used SV you'll love it.

Your not being a douche but a 600 that makes 120+hp is not the right bike to "learn" on. Looks are not what will keep you alive. Get a nice bike like the SV-650 to learn on the next season get a r6 or GSXR-600. Be mart and stay alive.

You know what on second thought FUCK you and get what you want and when you end up in a wheele chiar cause you thouht you where cool then you can look back on this thread.
