I almost wish my company would fire me or demote me to a non-foreman job so I didn't have to drive the company truck to work every day...would be nice to ride the bike on occasion! Granted, the company gas card is nice...

How much is the test? Is it the same everywhere? Cause in Richmond its like $165.

And I plan to get a bike to save gas. Since I didn't pay for my car or insurance the motorcycle will be "my" first vehicle.

I ride my bike everyday I can to and from work and around town, 40+mpgs. If it's too cold in the morning(below 50) or if it's supposed to rain I don't ride, guess cause I'm a puss. Plus I like driving my car sometimes. My dad has heated gear he can plug into his bike and a rain suit and rides almost everyday, you just have to be a lot more careful when it's wet. I think he gets 50+mpgs and leaves his G35 in the garage all the time (2003 w/ 21k miles).
I signed up for the TCC riders course and was put in a class that was 2 months later. I showed up that Friday after I had called to sign up and they let me in that class, so no wait for me. I recommend showing up for the class, they should be cool and fit you in if they can. I think it was $75 4 years ago.

Are MSF classes only available during certain months?

Yea I'm just assuming classes are only held during nice weather months. TCC is filled up and my learners is about to expire in June. I hope they offer classes at other times.

Out of curiosity, what have you been doing with the learner's for the last 11 months? Riding alone at all? Riding on the Highway at all?

I dont know if I could go for more than a month while following the permit rules before I had to go back for the real license.
