Got a BS speeding ticket on the bike last night.... HAVE GPS PROOF...
Very interesting! Think I might start running my tracks as well. I've been burned by officers lying a couple times too many! Good luck on using that as evidence and keep us posted!
Thanks tatt. I got it uploaded to my google maps account already and it shows me all the info on the red marker at the end but all it has is averages. The purple markers where it breaks it into sections don't show anything for info on speeds etc.
I thinkI need to turn the settings on the mytracks up so it records more points or some shit... it's kinda frustrating having it there and not knowing how to get the info out.

police "gang" that exists. I've seen a couple folks using gopro video cameras on their bikes just for racing, I think they would be great for everyday riding. One up front and back, record every time you're out. Never know when it will help.
Good Luck

How'd did this end up panning out?
Interested in doing this myself...
I'd like to know how it's a felony. Happens all the time. Hell, it's saved quite a few people from over-ambitious LEO's. Please cite the statute proving your statement.

Havent gone to court yet. Playing all angles at once. I sent in the ticket on the last day possible. I then petitioned the court for a full statement of the facts against me. Still havent recieved it. If I don't get it by the court date (which I also havent recieved) then I'm gonna have it postponed. If I get it less than a week before the court date I'll probably try to postpone it also.
Still trying to figure out a way to delete that last little "venting of steam" on 83 LOL. Otherwise I won't even try to use the MyTracks info for obvious reasons.

How did you get it to show your speed on the map?
Got the data I wanted out and figured out how to eliminate the rest after about 3 hours of web searching I have a useable map that shows my top speed up until the point I got pulled over was 54.something MPH. Shows my speed at the time of ticket fairly clearly as about 43 MPH. We'll see if the judge allows it but I should be okay now.
I doubt very highly that without sufficient motivation I could figure that shit out again. My Tracks should modify the app to make it much easier to access specific waypoints in the KML file.
ALSO I learned that under ideal conditions LIDAR throws a beam 3 feet wide at 1000 feet. The officer was 982 feet away when he shot the LIDAR and it was foggy as fuck. Since my bike is <3 feet wide and my buddy was following close he could have been piocked up behind me easily. ALSO typially the LIDAR is aimed at the front plate of a vehicle, which a motorcycle does not have.

Court tomorrow, wish me luck. I printed out the pic of my speed graph minus the rediculous section. We'll see how it goes.
