Finally did it...
Congrats on the bike purchase. I'm just getting back into bikes and unsure in which direction to go--sportbike or cruise. Quick call to my insurance company made up my mind quickly!! Cruiser is the way to go, lol!! I'm 33, no accidents and wow what a difference between the two. Best of luck on your purchase

Hell, even the Kawasaki ZZR600 is considered a sport tourer IIRC.. Looks pretty sporty in my opinion, but falls under a different insurance classification. Would get the best of both worlds.

Right now, I pay near $1k/year for insurance. When I turn 25 (6 months) it goes down to just over $200/year. I will eventually go bigger, but wanted to wait til I was over 25.
Definetly check out State Farm. Just remember that you need to carry a car policy with them as well. I get a discounts based on having car, motorcycle, life and home policies with them. Being loyal can pay off big. I have been in trouble with the law in the recent past (triple digits on the highway) and it doesn't hardly affect me.

State Farm my rock for bikes. We were with state Farm for many years and just switched to USAA. Our car insuarnce was a lot cheaper. I phoned USAA for a few quotes on various bikes. They stated they (USAA) actually dont cover the bikes, they deal through Progressive. I'mnot really looking for a crotch rocket anyhow, just something to commute on (cheap on gas) Would love an older 700 Shadow.
