dumb noob questions
looking for some input from some taller riders on the site, looking to get a bike hopefully this summer. Just looking for some suggestions on bikes for taller guys with out going to big, cuz this is my first bike.
Im 6'3, looking for new bike models, I really liked the cbr f4i's but unfortunately they dont make them anymore, I found r6's really uncomfortable, hurt my back after just a few minutes. Loved the busa's but way too big for a first bike.
any suggestions?

Re: dumb noob questions
I'm 5'10" so I don't have a ton of experience or things to add.
The one thing I do have to say is that larger cc's doesn't always mean a larger bike as far as ergo's are concerned. Year to year and model to model they vary quite a bit. I've sat on several liter bikes that were more compact and cramped than my zx6r. Heli-bars/bar risers and adjustable pegs can do a ton to make any bike more livable but with a 600/750/1000 sportbike they're always only going to be comfortable up to a certain point
I'd buy a lightly used f4i or a leftover 06 or 07 f4i when they switched to the banana/1 piece seat

Re: dumb noob questions
i do much prefer the one piece seats so i can sit my ass further back on the bike. I'd really prefer a new bike as to the fact you can never tell how badly someones beat that bike up even with only low miles.
How are the new zx6r's

Hmm.. if the R6 is not comfty to you... then maybe you should look into bikes with handlebars.. like that naked honda 919.... its a lot of cc to start tho.. but you get you idea..

you can get an older carbed cbr f4, they got the banana seat and great bike to start riding. But I don't know how much you weigh if you're like 6'3, 350lbs then I dunno, it might be like riding a pocket bike.
One of my friends bought an RC51 as his first bike, and hes like 6'3 about 370 or something, but he's pretty damn big....
and my friend that was about 5'8, 170lbs, was able to keep side by side with him on his sv650, and they're both pretty good riders...
You could also get a TL1000r, they're pretty big bikes, and they're v-twin so they're pretty smooth to learn on.

YZF600R $6500 brand new I got one a while back and it's freakin comfortable to ride as far as sport bikes go
I'm 6'3" and pretty big all around so if I can be comfortable on it you can plus it's a great starter bike
