i'd imagine that's why they want to make it city wide, keep the crowds in groups at concerts and other events, where they can be controlled. the city just sees dollar signs, especially when they look at events like laconia, myrtle, daytona, etc. the bike scene is no where near as "dirty" as it used to be, and thanks to the discovery channel crap, it's alot more socially acceptable. by no means am i saying there's anything set in stone, far from it, just that there has been a bit of a buzz about it, alot of which will depend on the outcome of this show, as far as the motorcycle aspect is concerned.

the "big bad biker" crowd isn't as bad as it was years ago, alot of those guys/gals have grown up and have money to burn (the whole "rolex rider" crowd, the weekend warriors), and the city just wants to tap into that i guess. i'm all for it, it'll keep me in work , but whether it'll actually happen, who knows.

 

I'm loving this optimistic side of you, SteveO! Maybe they'll pull it together, but I doubt it.

I'm sure there are some folks over there that would love to see it become a reality, but the likelihood of those few (who likely have no real clout) being able to make it happen is nil. In a past life I would have been leading the charge, but I'm too worn out to give a shit.

thanks to all that came out, considering all that was going on today, there were a shit-ton of bikes in the show. t'was a good day, all in all.

I was going to ask how it went...of course I never made it, but I did think about it and I did work on the bike a little more. Getting closer to actually riding it every day!
