Crazy bike prices
Is it just me, or does it seem like once warm weather gets here, people try to sell their bike for rediculous prices? Just today I saw a similar bike to the first one I bought four years ago, for almost $2k more than I paid then!
I can understand pricing over book value for low miles and condition, plus book is usually low anyway, but come on, look how much other people are asking and stay in the ballpark! :endrant:

Re: Crazy bike prices
yup, its riding season, supply and demand, the weather is getting nice, people want bikes, and theyll pay for it. But also, look at the sticker prices of the NEW bikes from dealerships, the sticker prices go up each year as well. Go buy a bike in Fall or Winter, you always get the best deals.

Re: Crazy bike prices
around here people do seem to think their bikes are worth a lot for some reason. Up in DC people seem to have a firmer grasp on reality and thats normally where I look for used stuff. Way too many kids think that they'll buy a new bike and sell it for $500 less than they paid at the end of the riding season. I don't care if they got screwed and they charged them freight/set-up and then had to pay taxes......I'm not paying within a grand of msrp for a used bike Some models/makes are a lot worse than others too
