Default Bike Prices in the Fall/Winter

Hey everyone, I am new to the bike scene and have a question on bike prices. Im takeing my class next month at Tcc to get my motorcycle lisence and im looking to get a bike soon after. My main question is how much do bike prices drop when it gets colder outside. Ive noticed that prices have come up since spring when i first started to look into bikes. Im looking to get a 96-2000ish ZX6-R, Ninja 500R, or a gsxr/katana. Im hopeing to spend around 2,500 for the bike and around 500 for gear. Is this a reasonable goal to have? Thanks for the help and I hope to see you all in the streets soon.

they will be cheaper, and easier to haggle as they probably won't have 50 people calling them with offers... exactly how cheaper hard to say, i'd say 500-1000 possibly on average but its not set in stone... i dont think its quite as much about price, but just the fact that 90% of the bikes you'll see advertised now are sold by the time you call, where as winter i'd say a much larger majority of them are probably still unsold

yea once winter rolls around everything including gear will come down in price and that does sound reasonable

Keep in mind that it will still be nice outside until late october. But I'm in the same boat that your in. I'm taking the calss the last weekend in july and I'd like to get a bike very soon their after. I'm hoping that after the summer time rush I'll be able to get a good deal on an ex500. Also having cash in had when you go to look at a bike will help to presuade the seller a little more to lower his price.

Yeah thats pretty much what I thought. Where are you takeing your class at? Im takeing mine at TCC the last week in july. Mabey in the same class? Im gonna be looking for a ninja zx6-r for my first bike. Just seems like a good bike price to performance and give me something to grow into. Im gonna probly get my gear from www.newenough.com. Del put that link up there and they look like they have some steals.

I don't think we're in the same class. I signed up for the MSCV course that is given at the main DMV in richmond. (Registered Classes: BRC July 30, 31 & August 1, 2004 @ Richmond (MAIN
DMV),) I'm under the impression that the first night is at the main dmv and the following two days are on the driving range that is located at VSU in colonial heights.

As for gear I've already picked up a few items. I got a Xpert pref. leather jacket and teknic kevlar leather gloves on sale from kens cycle shop in sandston and ordered a KBC vr-1 Euro helment from helment harbor. Next I'm thinking about getting some draggin jeans and boots.

Best of luck on your new bike. Hopefully I'll find one too.
