Default What to do to your bike for winter?

So my bikes outside, it doesn't run n e more because it fell over when it was raining and I think got water in the tank. so I'm basically just worried about making sure the engine doesn't get sludged up due to the oil sludging or doing anything crazy. Can you guys tell me how to preserve my bike as much as possible?

if you got water in the tank you should probably take the tank off and empty it out. if it's going to be outside i'd be sure to start it up a few times a week. if your bike has a cooling system where you can add anti-freeze i'd do that as well, especially with the cold weather coming soon

Your first thing to do is to get your bike back up and running. Some bikes have a tip-over sensor that needs to be re-set. Another thing to check for, or possibility, if your bike is carburetted, the fuel in your bowls may have come out a vent tube. There are several other things which may have caused your bike to stop running, but you need to do some trouble shooting to get it figured out.

For winter storage, I'd suggest adding some Stabil to your gas tank, draining your float bowls, putting the bike on stands so you don't develop flat spots on your tires, and putting your battery on a trickle charger.

Why winter it? It's in the 30's here, if there's not snow on the ground I'm ridin!!

If you're gonna winter it you should do all the above PLUS change the oil and filter before wintering it and change the oil again before riding.

I can't ride it since its not running. I wouldn't mind selling it for a grand since I could use the money for tuition, but its not running because of the water so. But its a 92 FZR600 so it doesn't have n e special tip meter thing. I'm guessing its water in the tank.
