i know one guy, but no one ever sees that fool any more.

there's all kinds of tl forums around the net.

i'd give you my opinion, but you probably wouldn't like what i have to say. (LOVE the motor, hate the rest of the bike)

Im on tlplanet and tlzone and was just wondering if anyone was local. much rather talk to someone like that than someone who is on the forum and might be a little biased.

i've rode a bunch of em. like i said, i LOVE the motor, but i'm not impressed with the rest of the bike, especially that crap rear suspension with it's rotary damper. it starts to go to crap real quick, because it's right next to the exhaust, and the fluid overheats and gets real thin, killing your damping in the rear. kinda rides like a pogo stick after a while on it. but, i'm picky when it comes to sportbike suspension, most people never notice it.

True. i've read a lot about the rear susp. And it seems it can be easily fixed with an aftermarket unit or one off a gixxer 1k

uh, i don't know how you'd put a 1k shock on it, the tl's have a separate spring and damper. i guess someone may make and adapter for it. i rode one with an ohlins shock conversion on it, and it made aaaaall the difference in the world, the bike just "felt" so much lighter.

Yeah. Ohlins a bitubo (sp?) are the way to go. some guys have used parts off a gixxer 1k. not sure if it was shocks or springs or what. Maybe its my other half's sv im thinking of.

But ill have the $$ for the bitubo stuff or i can splurge for the ohlins if the bike already has an exhaust.

yeah, sv's swap gixxer suspension all the time, i used to own one with a 750 shock and an inverted gsxr front suspension.
