any 600 will do.Dont be stupid and get a 1000 or something,get a 600 and learn to ride with that for about a year or so.then get faster bike.The actual dimensions of the bikes are the same. The difference is in the motor.

yea start on a 600, preferably a mid 90's are so just because they can be picked up for cheap... heres a few you might want to look at

Honda-
CBR 600 F2(91-92), F3(93-98), F4(99-00), or even F4i(01-04)

Suzuki-
GSX-R 600, any year
GSX 600 Katana, any year
SV650 SV650S, again all years are good

Yamaha-
YZF600R
YZF-R6 or YZF600(early mid 90's version of the R6 basically)
FZR600

Kawasaki-
any year ZX6 Ninja, but they have lots of models, C, D, E, R, RR, i think there are even more than that that i'm forgetting, but any would be good for a first bike

Triumph-
TT600
