Nic , I dont know you and you dont know me but if you are looking for a hookup on a VW Golf or another VW please feel free to check the http://richmonddubs.com board as all sorts of VW's get sold through there all the time.

Good luck with your education and props to you for you being willing to sacrifice something you obviously love ( your current stang) to help get where you want to be.

Thanks for the link. I learned how to drive on a 5-speed '84 Golf diesel. That thing was indestructable and I really love that body style. If I find anything like that I'll be all over it.

Sell the stang, if you are in financial troubles, it's the only thing to do. But you will miss it when it's gone, that's unavoidable. Do what you have to do, but remember not to waste $ on modding the new daily driver. Get yourself a cheap economy car.

Hey, I saw you dyno your car at the last FATS meeting. Nice car.

Anyways, a MK1 GTi would be pretty hot Nic. Get the old school 16v and I believe those are like high 15 second cars stock plus it's under a metric ton in weight. It would be a real fun, quick, cheap daily driver. I think if you get something too slow, lasting 'til next December will be somewhat excruciating.

You were probably looking for something dirt cheap, but this ride is the hotness: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...or=&cardist=94

i just bought a 2004 cavalier and the payments aren't all that bad, no it's not fast, but it gets descent mileage and doesn't look that bad, just something to get to school with, then when i get my degree, i keep the cavalier as a daily driver and buy a cobra like i want.
so yea making the sacrifice now is definately worth it once you get your degree.
good luck with whatever you decide to do
