so snowboarding leaves me in the hospital
Man what a day. I havent had a good last few days.
first yesterday at gforce the cart gets lose and I nail the wall head on hard, so I was sore from that when I woke up.
well me and some friends head up to wintergreen to do some snowboarding.
well I am going down the slope and someone cuts me off and stops, so I try to stop on a dime to keep from plowing through them, instead the front of my board digs in and over I go, landing HARD on my shoulder, I hear a loud pop.
I get up and my arm wont move. i get to the bottom and the pain hits, and i have to sit down. well i ride the lift to the top, and the pain is really sitting in and I almost pass out. I ride to the emergency thing at wintergreen where they look at me and tell me my shoulder is dislocated and poss. broken collar bone, and that I needed to get to a hospital.
well we just drive home to the hospital here, 2 hour ride with my shoulder dis-located.
I get to the hospital and I get my shirt off and its nasty looking, everything is out of place. they were gonna give me an IV and knock me out to put it back in place, but they needed x-rays of my collar bone first, well they start moving my arm and POP it pops back in, I pass out and hit the floor, almost throw up (pain was crazy), they get me in a wheelchair and give me pain killers. they take a farther look at it. no surgery needed. hairline fracture on the end of my collar bone and a seperated AC joint. its supposed to be a few mm between the 2 bones, mine is about an inch.
so I am stuck in a sling for weeks in crazy pain. this sucks.

Sorry you got hurt, sounds like you got lucky!
but first hand what was Wintergreen like? When did you go (day)? were there many ice patches? How warm was it? Was it like boarding on slush or was it OK?
